As the whole country takes great pride in having grandly celebrated the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, we are marking the 78th anniversary of proclamation of the Law on Gender Equality
After liberation, President Kim Il Sung put forth as an important task to ensure human equality free from sex discrimination, improve social treatment of women and respect women in the work to solve women’s problem, and he proclaimed the historic Law on Gender Equality on July 30, 1946, holding up our women, who occupied half of the population and lived in contempt and maltreatment, as genuine masters of the country in charge of a part of the state affairs.
The annals of the sacred history of our Republic are permeated with the feats, dedication and unknown services of our women who have undauntedly braved the harsh road to a prosperous nation, always casting their lots with the country and willingly shouldering difficult tasks for the prosperity of the country. During the Fatherland Liberation War, heroine Jo Sun Ok, with her body as a bomb, charged at an enemy tank holding a grenade to defend our grateful country that gave her a worthwhile life and genuine rights, and heroine An Yong Ae asked to covey her Party membership card and fee to the Party Central Committee at her last moment. A female Party member in Rakwon said to the President visiting her factory in the harsh period of the war that reconstruction was no problem at all. A grandmother in Thaesong said in the post-war time that no matter what the factionists said about the people’s livelihood, our people would always support the President.
Chairman Kim Jong Il highly valued and gave preference to our women through his fatherly leadership. He bestowed all the love and favors upon them.
When an ordinary woman in a mountain village asked him to name her coming baby, he smiled broadly like her real father and granted her wish.
After having appreciated an art performance given by art groups of Women’s Union, he said earnestly that the Women’s Union should serve as a powerful organization of the era. Stories of the Chairman’s great trust and benevolent fatherly love are countless.
For our women cherish the Chairman’s love and trust like their lifeline, they, in the harshest period of arduous march and forced march, dedicated their patriotism to defend the country and didn’t leave the factories, fields, schools and scientific research spots, fulfilling their social responsibilities and roles, just tightening the belts.
Today, our women are leading a worthwhile life as they hold in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another peerless great man.
At the turn of new century of Juche, he arranged a musical concert for them to celebrate March 8 International Women’s Day in a manful way, and extended warm congratulations to them. He also became the builder and supervisor of the research institutes conducive to the promotion of women’s health as well as hostels of weavers and silk-reel workers. Moreover, he devoted his all to provide our women with high-quality cosmetics, saying that he would spare nothing for them. Indeed, love and warm affection of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for our women know no bounds.
Just as flowers can bloom only in warm sunlight, our women were able to grow up into genuine female revolutionists and staunch patriots thanks to the tender care of the peerlessly great men who encouraged them to be loyal and patriotic.
It is impossible to achieve the dynamic advance and progress of Korean-style socialism and the ever-increasing strength of the nation without the loyal and patriotic spirit of our women who stand firmly while turning one of the wheels of the revolution that is heading towards victory under the guidance of the Party Central Committee.
The women of the DPRK will continue to believe in and follow the Workers’ Party of Korea as the entirety of their destiny and bring victory and glory to socialist Korea with their wholehearted loyalty and patriotic devotion.

조국해방전쟁승리 71돐을 성대히 경축한 크나큰 긍지와 자부심이 온 나라에 차넘치고있는 속에 우리는 남녀평등권법령발포 78돐을 뜻깊게 맞이하고있다.
위대한 김일성동지께서는 해방후 남녀의 차별없는 인륜적평등을 보장하고 녀성의 사회적대우를 제고하며 녀성의 인격을 존중하는것을 녀성문제해결의 중요한 과업으로 제시하시고 1946년 7월 30일에는 력사적인 남녀평등권법령을 발포하시여 세기를 두고 멸시와 천대속에 살아오던 조선녀성들, 인구의 반수를 차지하는 우리 녀성들을 국가사업의 일익을 담당한 나라의 진정한 주인으로 내세워주시였다.
하기에 우리 공화국의 성스러운 력사속에는 조국해방전쟁시기 참다운 삶과 진정한 권리를 안겨준 고마운 우리 조국을 지켜 한몸이 그대로 육탄이 되여 수류탄을 안고 적땅크를 맞받아나간 조순옥영웅과 당원증과 당비를 당중앙위원회에 전해달라는 마지막당부를 남기고 간 안영애영웅, 전쟁의 어려운 시기 공장을 찾아오신 위대한 김일성동지께 복구건설은 문제없다고 말씀올린 락원의 녀성당원, 종파놈들이 인민생활이 어찌고어찌고 떠들어도 우리는 수상님을 지지한다고 아뢰인 전후시기 태성할머니를 비롯하여 언제나 나라와 운명을 함께 하며 조국의 부강을 위한 어려운 과제들도 기꺼이 걸머지고 부국강병의 험난한 길을 변함없이, 굴함없이 헤쳐온 우리 녀성들의 공훈과 헌신적인 노력, 남모르는 수고가 가슴뜨겁게 슴배여있다.
위대한 김정일동지께서는 친어버이의 따사로운 령도의 손길로 우리 녀성들을 이 세상 제일로 아끼고 내세워주시며 주실수 있는 온갖 사랑과 은정을 다 돌려주시였다.
산간마을 평범한 녀인의 청도 무랍없이 들으시고 친정아버님이 되신듯 환하게 웃으시며 태여날 아기의 이름도 지어주시였으며 녀맹원들이 준비한 전국녀맹예술소조종합공연을 보아주시고 녀성동맹이 시대의 힘있는 조직이 되라는 당부를 남기신 사실을 비롯하여 위대한 김정일동지의 크나큰 믿음과 자애로운 어버이사랑에 대한 이야기들은 끝이 없다.
위대한 김정일동지의 그 사랑, 그 믿음을 운명의 피줄처럼 간직한 우리 녀성들이였기에 그처럼 어렵던 고난의 행군, 강행군시기 조국보위를 위한 사업에 애국의 한마음을 다 바치였고 허리띠를 조이면서도 공장과 농장벌, 교단과 과학연구현장을 떠나지 않고 자기의 사회적책임과 역할을 다할수 있었다.
오늘 우리 녀성들은 또 한분의 위인이신 경애하는 김정은동지를 높이 모시여 자기의 값높은 삶을 빛내여가고있다.
주체 100년대의 첫 기슭에서 3.8국제부녀절을 뜻깊게 경축하도록 음악회도 마련해주시고 따뜻한 축하도 보내주시였으며 몸소 건설주, 시공주가 되시여 녀성들의 건강증진에 이바지하는 연구소와 녀성방직공, 제사공들의 합숙을 지어주신 사랑의 이야기, 녀성들을 위해서는 아까울것이 없다고 하시며 질좋은 화장품을 안겨주시려 다심한 정을 기울이신 사실을 비롯하여 경애하는 김정은동지께서 우리 녀성들을 위하여 돌려주신 사랑과 은정은 그 끝을 모르고있다.
진정 태양의 빛과 열이 있어 온갖 꽃이 만발하듯이 충성과 애국에로 떠밀어준 절세위인들의 은혜로운 손길이 있어 우리 녀성들은 참다운 녀성혁명가, 견실한 애국자들로 억세게 자라날수 있었다.
우리식 사회주의가 줄기찬 전진발전을 이룩하고 우리 국가의 위력이 나날이 강화되고있는것은 당중앙이 이끄는 승리의 한길로 혁명의 한쪽수레바퀴를 억세게 떠밀어나가는 우리 녀성들의 충성과 애국의 마음을 떠나서 생각할수 없다
