※시간을 말할 때의 꼬리말은 이미 익힌 낱말들이 그대로 쓰이므로, 그런 어감으로 익히면된다.
■ time [타임], o'clock[어클락], hour[아우어]
time은 시간이 있다.없다. ~할 시간이다... 그런 어감으로 쓰이는 말이고,
o'clock은 몇시 몇분 할 때의 '시'라는 말로 쓰고,
hour [아우어]는 한시간, 두시간, 세시간 반.... 이라는 어감으로 말할 때 쓴다.
▶ 시간있어? 응,있어. => Do you have some time? => Yes, I've some time.
몇시야? => What time is it? => 5시야. It's five o'clock.
▶ 잘 시간이야. => It's the time to go to bed.
시작할 시간이야. => It's the time to begin.
지금이 적기야. => Now is the right time.
▶ 시간.hour을 반.half[하프]로 쪼개면? => half an hour
그럼 '반시간'이라는 말은? => a half-hour
한시간 반? => 한시간 하고 반시간 one hour and a half hour
