※귤 mandarin,mandarins[맨더린,맨더린즈] mandarin oragne 처럼 orange를 붙여서 말해도 되고 그냥 mandarin이라고도 한다.
나는 포도하고 귤하고 배하고 사과하고 그리고 키위가 좋다.
I like grapes, mandarins, pears, apples, and kiwis.
나는 등산을 좋아하고, 톰은 여행을 좋아한다.
I love climbing mountains and Tom loves making trips.
▶나는 과일을 좋아해, 포도, 귤, 배,.... 그리고. 쭉쭉..(기타등등), 같은거.

※한글로 하자니 같은 so가 '그래서,그러니'로 다르게 번역이 되는데, 그거 아니다. 영어로 또박또박 읽으면서 영어 so로서 어감을 익히기 바란다.
■린다는 춤만큼이나(춤을 잘 추듯이) 노래도 잘한다.
as= all so의 준말이고, well은 '잘'이란 말이니까, as well 어떤 기준을 두고, 그 기준과 모든 면이 똑 같이 그렇게 잘 ~한다..... 그런 어감이다.
Linda sings a song as well as she does a dance.
줄이면> Linda sings a song as well as doing a dance.
존은 영어만큼이나 중국어를 잘한다.(영어를 잘하는데, 중국어도 그만큼 잘한다)
John speaks Chinese as well as he speaks English.
줄이면> John speaks Chinese as well as English.
▶여기서, 쓰임을 좀 확장해 보면;
탐은 참 똑똑해. 거기다가(게다가) 탐은 멋있는 놈이야.
Tom is very smart. As well as that, he is a cool guy.
팀이 오늘 신났어. 왜? => 장사를 잘했지. 게다가, 예쁜 여자도 만났거든.
Tim did a good business today. As well as that, he met a very beautiful lady.
수잔도, 톰 처럼(그러하듯이), 카나다에 갈거야.
Susan, as well as Tom, is going to Canada.
▶(일이 있어서) 난 지금 갈 수가 없어. 게다가, 난 술마시는 거 않좋아해.
besides[비싸이즈]= be+ side[싸이드: 옆.쪽.면] => 어떤 상태.면에다가 더 보태서... 그런 어감의 말이다.
I can't come now. Besides that, I don't like drinking.
줄이면> I can't come now. Besides, I don't like drinking.
서울은 집이 너무 비싸. 거기다가, 교통체증은 어떻고.
Houses are too expensive in Seoul. Besides this, how the traffic jam is!
■우리 가족은 울릉도 간다. 그리고, 수잔네 가족도 올거야.
한글의 '~도,또,~또한'에 해당하는 말은 위에서 본 것 외에,
too[투ㅜ]는 긍정으로, ~도 ~이다.한다.... 라고 말할 때 쓰고
either[이더]는 부정으로, ~도 ~아니다.안한다... 라고 말할 때 쓴다.
neither[니더]는 not+either이니까, 두 개다 아니다... 라는 말이다.
우리 가족은 울릉도에 갈거야. 그리고 수잔네도 올거고.
My family is going to Ulleungdo. And Susan's is coming too.
too: as well> My family's going.... And Susan's is coming as well.
too: also> My family's going... (and) Susan's is also coming.
또는> My family's going... Also, Susans' is coming.
너 올해 7살이라고? 나도 7살이야.
a.You are seven years old this year? I'm seven years old too.
또는> b.You're seven years...? I too am seven years old.
too:as well> c.You're seven years...? I am seven years old as well.
too: also> d.You're seven years...? I am also seven years old.
또는> e.You're seven years...? Also, I am seven years old.
※어감은 as well< too< also 순서이고, also가 가장 딱딱하다.
too를 b.나도 I too처럼 바로 붙여서 말하면 역시 딱딱한 어감이 된다.
위의 말을 줄여보면;
a.You are seven years old this year? I'm seven years old too.
줄이면 > You are seven years old this year? I'm seven too.
또 줄이면> You are seven years old this year? I'm too.
마찬가지로 줄이면;
b.You're seven years...? I too am.
c.You're seven years...? I am as well.
d.You're seven years...? I am also.
e.You're seven years...? Also, I am.
너는 회를 안좋아 한다고? 나도 회를 안좋아해.
You don't like Hoe[회]? No, I don't like Hoe either.
줄이면> You don't like Hoe? I don't either.
not either: neither> You don't like Hoe? Neither do I.
※neither는 어감도 딱딱하고, 낱말의 순서를 바꿔서 말할정도로 어감도 강하다.
■어느게 더 좋으니? 이거 아니면(또는) 이거? => This or this?
누가 심부름을 좀 다녀와야겠는데, => 너 아니면 너? You or you?
우리 피자 먹을 건데, 너는 Yes 아니면 No?
We are going to have some pizza, how about you? Yes or No?
거기 갈려면,
5시간 또는 6시간 또는 그 정도 걸릴거야.
